SPORTING DOGS

Whiskeytown Sporting Dogs, is a breeder of champion Wirehaired Pointing Griffons in the field and ring. We place pups all over the United States and Canada. Whiskeytown Sporting Dogs has been involved with Wirehaired Pointing Griffons for the past 17 years.  Our interest in the breed began when searching for the perfect versatile hunting dog; one that worked as both an upland pointer and an excellent retriever as well. In addition to hunting with our dogs, we compete in the show ring as well and have won multiple national events in AKC conformation including Westminster Kennel Club breed and group placements, AKC National Championships and AWPGA National Specialties. Whiskeytown Sporting Dogs has bred multiple Multiple Best In Show and AWPGA Field Dog of Year Wirehaired Pointing Griffons. 

 

Whiskeytown grips are bred to excel as sporting dogs and family pets - whether in the field, the show ring, obedience, search & rescue, therapy dog work or just having fun in the family yard.

In addition to being named AKC's 2020 Sporting Dog Breeder of the Year, Whiskeytown Sporting Dogs is an active member of NAVHDA and the American Wirehaired Pointing Griffon Association.
